Theolgoy

Here I will go through the different areas of theological topics that I have spent a considerable amount of time researching and studying. This section is a continued area of study of my life and will continued to be added to and edited. I know many will disagree with my views and there is nothing wrong with that.  The wonderful thing about the schools I attended to earn my degrees is that not one of them told me what to believe or think.  They taught me how to research and study.  They encouraged me to think on my own and to develop a personal relationship with Christ.
Far too often I am seeing a great deal of division in the church and much of the division is due to these very topics.  Over the course of my experience in the church I have been exposed to these topics at varying degrees.  In many cases I have lost some great friendships over these very issues due to the amount of division they cause.
The topic of theology is a very vast and misunderstood area of study.  To master the area of theology one must devote a considerable amount of time and energy to the subject.  Merely one year in the study is not enough to cover the entire topic.  The field of theology in the Christian faith stems as far back as the first century.  Over the age of the church people have gone to the scriptures to search the deepest purpose of God and man.
As people continue to search they will discover that two people can look at the exact same text and develop completely different views as to how the text will apply to mankind.  Due to these different views the church has gone through many divisions.  Culture can be an influence as to how a person will take a text and incorporate the message into their life.  These very influences will motivate a person to relate to others within the same culture they relate to.
In America there is no shortage of denominations and there seems to be an ever increasing number of them every decade or two.  In the sixteenth century there was a movement from the Catholic Church known today as the Protestant movement.  Over the next five hundred years the Protestant church continued to divide.  The debate over the atonement, Calvinist vs. Armenians, works vs. faith, the end times (eschatology), baptism, women’s role in the church, micro churches vs. mega churches, spiritual gifts, and much more have played key roles in shaping people's understanding of the scriptures.
